No Sophomore Internship -- Advice Needed

Title says it all. I tried to get one and got into final rounds of a couple of small firms, however every process I was in ultimately fell short. Seeing as I'm probably not going to get anything out of the 2023 recruiting cycle either, I'm looking at advice on what to do next as I ultimately want to break into IB. By skimming through this form and previous posts, it looks like I have three options (for context, I go to a non-target):

1. Delay graduation and try recruiting again

2. Go for a MSF

3. Try and get something for next summer and attempt FT recruiting

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If it's an option, I honestly think delaying graduation is a good idea. Not often used but it has very little downside besides obviously delaying graduation and the start of your career.

Also, try to get a search fund internship with a fund run by someone with IB/PE experience. Those tend to be easier to get than boutique IB / LMM PE / other finance internships because they always need help with sourcing and industry research

And find people who can give you brutally honest feedback about your responses to common interview questions. Something is clearly going wrong for you to not even get a sophomore internship. You need to work on whatever is dragging you down in recruiting
