Looking for some advice to join IB through an off cycle internship after spending ~2y in an MBB (working mostly on corporate finance, strategy and DD projects).
1) Are banks mostly offering off-cycle opportunities on their website or does it rather work through intense networking with IB insiders who would pass over your CV to Partners/MDs ? 2) What is the usual timeline for this recruitment?
Any help on how to approach that would be appreciated !
Really depends on your profile (uni, grades, previous experience) and the banks that you are targeting.
If you have already spent 2years it may also make sense to go for the MBA and then come as an associate with the pay bump, if you give a little bit more of background info I can try to help with the Off cycle process in London IB scene.

Yes it can be open for you but depends if you have worked before for a 'real' job. As OP asked I would say its not open to him given he has 2 years work exp... They OC internships are primarily for placement year students or graduates.

I would consider later roles - even if you didn’t do IB you should be able find roles to start as an analyst directly given your experience at MBB will be valued. Otherwise the MBA route also sounds like a good option.
Can someone share a bit of insight on timeline? Are the acc centers for Jan starts in Sep/Oct/Nov?

CS is open for people that have graduated previously (+1 year) and so are GS / MS / BofA / Nomura not sure about JP tho or other banks
