Off-Cycle Internships as a US Student
I'm graduating early from a quarter-system school and qualify for the UK's HPI visa. I'm exploring off-cycle internships (not just IB) but am hesitant to pay the ~$5K visa fee until securing one—especially since my chances are slim.
- Will I be dinged for stating I need a visa (but not sponsorship) when answering application questions?
- Do I need to network for these roles? My impression is that UK hiring isn't as networking-heavy, but I haven't researched much.
- Any general advice, especially from those who have done this successfully?
