Only 1 interview this season... What did I do wrong?
So this season I decided to throw out a net, apply for summer internships again (whilst I didn't know the status of my return offer) and then started applying for graduate schemes. Problem is that I only received ONE invitation for interview, and I didn't progress to the AC. It was only a summer internship as well. That's it. I haven't had any other success. I'm not sure why though? In summer 2022 I interned at a BB within an investment banking product group. I attend a good university (consistently top 20s), but not a traditional banking target (think somewhere up north, v pretty city).
What could be the reason for this? Is the market just that bad that it's so hard to break in? I don't really understand because I had 10+ first rounds last year, 5 assessment centres/final rounds, incl. 2 at BB banks.
