Opening within my own firm. Risk an attempt to move?
Hi everyone.
For the last 6 months I have working for a multi-manager hedge fund.
I have just found out that another manager within this same hedge fund is looking for an analyst.
I really like this other manager and, particularly, their investment strategy, which is very different from the one I'm currently working for (and I believe more suited to my skills).
Do you think it's worth "risking it" and having a chat with this other manager about whether I could be considered for the job? The downside is that he may not consider the request "appropriate", and may inform my current boss who will probably not appreciate it given I've been here for less than 1 year.
Any decent views will get my appreciation and a silver banana.
Thanks!
