PE placement vs Big4 Audit

Hey guys,

Hope you are doing well.

I've recently got two very different job propositions:

  • One for an internship within a Private Equity placement firm in Monaco;
  • The other for the big4 audit department in Luxembourg.

My line of thought is that by going into PE placement it might be hard later to change careers in case I get bored of it, however the comp is better and the work seems a little bit more interesting. While audit might not pay so well in the short-term, it doesn't close doors for the future in case I want to change.

Any thoughts?

Depends on your view of the PE landscape but IMO there’s always going to be funds to raise. Placement agent by a long shot as far as long term earnings potential. Not even close. But that’s compared to a career in audit itself. There are many paths one can take from audit tho.

This also depends on how good you are at selling/talking to people. Long term earning potential is incredible if you are a good placement agent
