Please Advise

Hi, All

I am a newbie to this forum, I graduated this past year. I have experience in a BB working in prime brokerage and have had previouse back office internships with a private management firm and pricing and research firm. I am having a difficult time finding a job and just wanted to get peoples opinion on this topic. I graduated with exactly a 3.01 GPA (Not great) and went to a private university that has a pretty decent Business program. I have some great Extra curricular activities such as fraternity, and different orgs at my school. My ideal position woul be a development role in operations preferrably in an alternative investment firm. How would you go about obtaining this if you were in my shoes. Any advice will be helpful and thanks in advance for your time.

Unless you have connections (family, alumni), getting into a HF might be difficult considering your GPA. You could try Citco, a hedge fund custodian who basically do ops work for all sorts of funds. They would probably give you the experience to lateral into a HF down the road.

Btw, 'Please Advise' is how the guys in India who do outsourced ops work start their emails. I would try something different.

Ha! So true.

The world has changed. And we must change with it.

------------ I'm making it up as I go along.
