Post-MBA Associate Lateral Timing
I’ve heard 3 different opinions on when post-MBA associates, or associates in general, should consider laterals: 1. 1 year in with some experience but still fresh and flexible 2. just before VP to jump up to VP 3. just after VP once you’ve proven yourself more.
Anyone have any insight as to when the best time is?
Have seen a handful of alums from my B school lateral after 1.5 - 2 years from an ok shop to a top bb. All of them were successful in growing into senior bankers at the new shop, so that lateral timing seemed to work.
