Preparing for Superday

I am currently preparing for a super and obviously learning the technicals.  I am using the BIWS400 guide and I am wondering if it is important to understand the Advanced ones especially since I have no previous finance experience.  I am learning the basic ones like the back of my hand but don't know if I should spend time on the advanced more complicated ones.

Prep the basics but depending on whether you are in financing or classic you may need to know a bit more. For example, during my classic SD, I was asked an accretion-dilution question. Financing you might get asked a YTM question. Overall very little emphasis on techs though.
