Prospective unpaid internship - meeting

Hey guys, heard back from an MD saying they don’t offer anything paid, but happy to talk to me if I consider unpaid. I’m more than willing, what do you think he’ll be asking me and what should I prepare for the call?

I’m located across the country so I guess going into the firm won’t be feasible… Would it essentially be an interview and that I should prepare for my technicals?

Should i prepare the discussion solely just by focusing i want the experience and exposure in the industry?

And If he asks what am I trying to gain, what do I want to do and achieve in the internship. What would be a good response guys?

Thanks

I would be hesitant in accepting something that is so far away from home and is unpaid.

A few things: 1) it doesn't hurt to interview and then, if you get an offer, weigh the options for yourself and see if it is in fact doable, 2) more relevant to your question - you want to focus on your interest in building relevant experience, learning the business, gaining exposure and essentially figuring out if this path is right for you moving forward, 3) in terms of what you want out of it - that's more or less the same as 2) - you just want to learn as much as you can about the business, see some deals through the different stages, etc.
