Question regarding compliance paperwork...
I was filling out the compliance paper work for my SA stint this summer with a particular bank. On my resume during recruiting I listed my majors as Finance and Accounting. After meeting with my adviser this semester though, she felt it would be dumb for me to go for the double major (I'd have to take 19 credits per semester), and suggested me just picking the accounting classes that would make a difference in my field (like Financial Statement Analysis, Advanced Financial, etc) and skip classes that probably wouldn't help (like Accounting Information Systems, Auditing, and Tax).
I like this idea because I will then have the opportunity to take an MBA level course on Valuation, whereas I previously would not have.
All that said, should I just list my major as Finance on the paperwork? I already have a minor/concentration in Accounting, and will essentially be taking every class that would matter. I was worried they might compare this with my resume, but I'm not sure how much they'd care. Rather, would it be better for me to list my major as Finance and Accounting, and then if I were to end up full-time with them, just tell them the course I decided to take otherwise?
Any thoughts would be helpful.
this probably doesn't matter at all, I would probably just list both as if you hadn't had that conversation with your counselor.
Really doesn't matter.
