Quick Lisa Simpson "Validate me!" Question

Iâ€m going to be a junior in the fall at Columbia and Iâ€m majoring in poli sci (3.6 GPA) but Iâ€ve taken a lot quantitative classes (Calc, Stats, Finance, etc.). I spent the last two summers doing an internship at a small healthcare company, Iâ€m in Switzerland now interning at a big pharma company and I have another internship in the fall at relatively small ($1 billion assets) but well-known asset management firm. I just want to know if Iâ€m in the running for a job at a big bank and more importantly what I can do to improve my chances. Thanks in advance guys.

though i don't know the field that well, having a 3.6 GPA at an ivy living in NYC and having some financial background is going to help. start contacting alumni you know in the field or go to career services.

you've got a good shot. love the thread title. the big question they're going to ask is, why ibanking? work on that answer. develop your passion for finance. the fall internship sounds great, and try to take another finance class as well. read monkey business if you have time over the summer.

agree with gomes, talk to career services and network with alumni. work on your resume and cover letter and keep your eye out for info sessions and resume drop deadlines.

best of luck!
