Reaching out on LinkedIn

Hey everyone, I am a freshman at Fordham. I currently am waiting to hear back from various companies regarding summer internships. I applied to hundreds and have only heard back from a couple. As it is getting late, my last approach is shooting out messages on LinkedIn to small boutiques and testing my luck. What is the most affective way of messaging them and who should I message? (MD, VP's, etc) Thanks a lot, this will be a big help in my process.
