Recent Graduate... from a non target school

Any advice would be appreciated...

I graduated in spring 08'and had originally planned on going to law school in the fall however, plans have changed and now I will be delaying for at least a year.

I decided I would take a chance and see if I could get a position as an analyst in New York. Basically I just wanted to know my chances... if I have any chance at pretty much any investment bank, MM, respectable boutique, etc in New York.

I graduated from a decidedly non target school (would have transferred but it was a nonissue due to law school)

Graduated summa in the top 1% with a BS in Econ

no summer internship junior year (again law school) but am completing a summer with the SEC now, and will hopefully work in a similar position for the next year

any chance at all? im certainly not hopeful for places like goldman or merill... and with the market in the shitter I would assume recruiting can't be good... especially for people like me

thanks for any help
