Recruiter Questions on Salary

I am starting to interview for other roles and find that recruiters always ask for my salary, bonus and ranking. I am not happy at all with both my bonus and ranking as a lot of politics came into play there so I never want to discuss it, especially with recruiters in order not to sell myself short.

Can anyone who has been in a similar position or just general understanding of these things please let me know how best to navigate this? Also, just how best to navigate recruiter calls when talking about yourself and opportunities.

Thank you!
