Recruiting For NY with Uni Abroad (Already a Citizen)

Hello, I’m an incoming student at a top target in the UK (Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, Imperial) and wanted to know if/how I can recruit for NY. I lived in the US most my life (including high school) and I am a citizen. I already have 3 US based finance internships on my resume (retail banking in high school, Wealth Management at regional bank this summer, and capital markets analyst at a brokerage this summer), as well as a strong finance related personal project. I also plan to recruit and get both UK spring weeks, and a boutique US IB for summer after my first year. The main problem is that due to the UK’s quicker uni timespan, I need to apply for Summer 2028. I won’t have done any spring weeks or freshman internships before applying, but if everything goes well, I should have them locked in. Assuming I get a first on my degree this semester, network as well as a first year that’s not in NY can, and have good interview skills, what are the odds I can actually land a NY SA role 2028. Would having a spring lined up at the same company help? Any specific tips for networking from abroad?

Please don’t just tell me to work in London and then lateral. If I don’t get a NY SA then I’ll apply for London when the time comes, but I’d really like to aim for NY 2028 SA.
