Recruitment Process - Help
Hi Guys
I'm applying for summer analyst positions at a number of bulge brackets. I've also applied to the same firms last year just to test out my chances and see what the interview/assessment process is like, on my CV, I said that I was graduating a year earlier than I was meant to be and inflated my GPA by around .5 (3.1 to 3.6).
Now, I never intended to be take any offers even if I received it (because I'll fail academic background check or if they ask for my transcript). I had 3 interviews and received an offer, but I turned it down in case I get caught out for lying.
Problem is, this year i am applying for real, with 100% accurate information and no lying whatsoever on my CV. I was just wondering whether HR will search my name on their database for previous applications and catch me out when my current application isn't consistent with my previous one. Is this something that they normally do ? Do they even have access to the prior period applications ?
Can anyone with experience with HR help me ? Am I a bit fucked for doing a dumb thing last year ?
Thanks heaps
o dear
This is hilarious. To be honest, it might fuck you, but I doubt it. They "have" all of your data, somewhere, but I'd think it's unlikely that they'll bother to reference it / even remember. That said, the firm you turned down will probably not even interview you after that.
Yeah I know, thats why I'm wondering whether there are people who are familiar with HR processes to see whether they actually check past applications.
Does it even matter? All that will happen is you won't get an interview.
I think the GPA difference will be pretty big. You only got 3 interviews with a 3.6, so how many do you think you will get with a 3.1?
