Networking isn't really supposed to be with your peers as far as breaking into banking is concerned. It's more about networking with alumni and people at the firms. So no one will know or care what the other students think. Otherwise just get out there and try new things until you find a good group that you will fit in with. Chin up
Grow a pair and accept temporary failure as part of the process. Work on your "day game" by asking at least ten random 7+ bimbos out. You might get shot down on all counts coupled with funny looks, but you'll never be shy again and in the end you should realize how meaningless your initial fears were.
