Over the last few months I have encountered a rather annoying problem. As some of you may know, Germans and Swiss employers request full documentation of previous experience. This includes references from each employers. For some reason it seems that it is not possible to obtain a reference from UK-based firms due to some Data Protection Act. So basically, I need to reach out the the recruitment person at this firm I interned with every single time I apply for a role in the DACH region. Obviously I don't want him to know where I applying.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
just explain to the german/swiss employer how hard could it be?
