Rejection feedback: ''Guts feeling''

I had a couple of interviews lately, both ended up the same. I always ask for feedback after a rejection but I'm not sure what to make out of this: ''We preferred other candidates, yadda, yadda, yadda, no particular reason, just guts feeling''.

I suppose this has happened before to others here as well, any advice to break through it?
