Research Assistant Position?

Hi. I was wondering if you guys could give me some opinions. Basically, I'm a junior and have been offered a research assistant position at Goizueta in their social enterprise division. I would start off as cataloging about 1000 companies' data in Excel and eventually help them find any trends within that data from what I understand.

Social enterprise and this project does interest me, but right now my short term goal is to land a SA ibanking position next summer. I was wondering if this RA position would add anything to my resume/ me as a candidate for an SA position? I'm curious because I have a possible school year opportunity at a boutique firm, but I won't know until October while I need to decide on this RA position by the end of the week. The boutique firm however has a high chance of not happening as before I was supposed to work for them during the summer, but they pulled the plug on me before I even started due to lack of funds so it could happen again.

I think I have enough time to do both, but yeah I'm just curious if the RA spot would add any value in terms of getting an SA role. Thanks
