Rising Senior Needs Guidance

Hi there!

I am a rising Senior Finance Major at the George Washington University. I have a sub 3.0 GPA, and do not have any prior Finance related internships. Instead, I have been interning at human capital consulting firm for the past two years. I have a multitude of leadership activities and am involved on campus. Because I have a connection within the school, I will be able to pursue my MSF at GW as well. (I know it's not a great MSF program but with my GPA its my best bet).

Here is my question: I am taking classes / am committed to my current internship through June 30th... I have the option to continue to work there for the rest of the summer but I want to do something different aka something actually related to finance.

Should I send out Resume's/Coverletter's to some smaller Shops in the DC area for a potential internship for the second half of the summer considering that it is already May and my GPA situation etc.? Or is it even worth it?

The past two semesters I have earned over a 3.8 and plan to earn the same type of grades in Grad School to position myself for potentially a target job or in reality just anything in banking...

Any help you can provide would be SO much help, as right now I am completely lost and kind of disheartened.
