Risk Management Internship - boost for SA next year?

Hi all,

I'm wrapping up my sophomore year at a semi-target (basically no BB OCR, some MM OCR). We do, however, have a decent number of alums on the street. 3.5 GPA.

I landed a risk management rotational this summer at a very well-known global firm. I will essentially be working with underwriting for credit extended to other companies looking to lease the firm's products. Couple of questions:

  1. Is this credit risk?
  2. Is this finance-related enough to make me competitive for IBD SA recruiting next summer?

Thanks.
