Seeking Advice for IB FT in London
Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on the forum so I hope this is the place to do so.
I am currently working at a MM PE Fund as an analyst based in London for the last 8 months, have gathered plenty of experience both in origination and execution, and have got IB experience as a summer intern in an IB boutique in NYC and as an off-cycle analyst for 6 months in another one in Barcelona.
My current job is coming to an end and I am looking to move to FT IB from August/September onwards. I am aware that I should have applied in the last cycle (Sep-22) for this kind of roles but wanted to hear opinions on what to do next. I am currently thinking of applying this September/October 2023 for FT positions in 2024 but don't want to waste my time and would love to start working full-time ASAP.
Happy to give any additional context and thank you all for the insights.
It sounds like you're graduated and already doing FT work? In which case I don't think you have to wait for the grad role cycles to come out, you could just apply to ad hoc positions. Correct me if I'm wrong.
But you're kind of searching at the worst possible time right now with banks making layoffs across seniorities.
