semi interested

i posted my resume on monster and received a couple of e-mails from some firms..some from '[email protected]' and some direct from MD's...

so far none are from the first tier of positions/firms i'm interested in, as i've yet to apply to those.. (just decided to post my resume in the meantime)

since the first tier responses will probably take a month or more, should i thank the current responses now and show interest or reply a month from now when i here from priority firms..i feel if i do the latter they'd be wondering why it took me so long to respond..

Respond right away, interview and get an offer. Then you can leverage your offer at your top choice, assuming you get an interview.
