Setting up informational interview when unable to make face to face or phone contact

Hi,

I have found an email for an Alumni who is a senior recruiter at McKinsey, I would like to email him and set up an informational interview before i apply for internships however i am currently working out of the country so can not set up a face to face meeting and do not have a phone to be contacted on and international call charges make it impossible. How would you suggest going about this? should I send him an email and then ask whether he would mind answering a few questions in a follow up email? or possibly skype?
