Should I accept a 4-6 week unpaid internship that doesn't align with my goals?
I just finished my sophomore year and accepted a full-time job as a laborman for a $25mm firm. The Controller of the firm offered me an unpaid internship where he'll review financial statements with me in exchange for bookeeping and filing papers. He told me upfront that his specialty isn't Finance and is not involved in investment decisions.
I'm already working 40 hours a week and it's almost time for school. Is it even worth it?
Not if it doesn't get you closer to where you want to be. Only way you'd take that is if it were paid. As it's not, what's the point?
Sounds like dude wants some free labor for a few weeks. I'd pass.
Unless you think it may be something you want to learn/put on your resume, like @"Cruncharoo" said, sounds like he's looking for a mule to do some busy work.
