Should I contact HR?

Had a final interview last Thursday with both HR and VP for a small-medium sized branch of a big bank (HQ is overseas). The interview lasted a total of 30 min, but it seemed like the VP liked what I had to say. HR escorted me out, and along the way, the different departments were pointed out, which I thought was a good sign? HR told me to hear a decision early next week. Haven't heard anything since the interview (and I did send out Thank Yous), so should I email HR soon to inquire whether I've been rejected? Thanks.
