should I network more or apply now

lets say an IB application is opening up tonight, but ive only talked to one person at the firm im interested in. convo went alright but he clearly knew i wasnt really that into the IB group he works in (which is real estate). and he's only one guy (an associate). should i apply tonight and just notify him, or, should i try to network more and talk to like one or two more people before applying? or can i apply now and then try to talk to more ppl? thoughts?

I applied and kept networking and got a good connection to the recruiter directly. I think applying earlier and then genuinely looking at recruiting as making friends is the way to go. didn’t hurt me at least so i’d do that
