Hey so I noticed some of the bulge brackets give the option of posting unofficial transcripts. I was wondering if it mattered if you submitted one or not. I have a 3.92 but one W in a non-finance related class.

I have a near 4.0 with a W in a non-finance course as well, so I know where you're coming from. All that matters is that you bounced back from it and succeeded (which you clearly did). Post away.
Doesn't matter. I had about 2-3 W's. The BB I was working for didn't mention it

Hello all,
I'm currently looking at my school's online resume drop specifications for each firm, and basically there are two "guidelines" for what you can submit.
Documents Allowed Selection -- the stuff that they will and could take. Documents Required Selection -- the stuff you must have to apply.
For one of the top-tier BBs, in the Documents Allowed, they listed Transcript, Cover Letter, and Resume. In the Documents Required, they only listed Resume.
My question is -- if my transcript is not going to help me and it could quite possibly hurt me (although I am an Econ major, my best grades were not in Econ aka major GPA (3.2) cumulative (3.7)), should I just leave it out?
Would this be seen as a red flag to the person reading these resumes? I'm trying to hedge my bets as to which would be worse (apply without a transcript and getting dinged for that, or applying with and getting dinged for poor grades).
In short -- if the transcript is an optional document, would I be ok leaving it out?

Leave it out. Don't mention it in interviews, leave Major GPA off your resume. No one is going to ask or care to ask about your major GPA. And no one cares about your transcripts if its only optional to submit them.
