Someone Gets Roped Into an Email Thread via CC, Now What...

Someone I cold emailed was kind enough to put me in contact with another alum and added them into their response via CC. Do you guys usually start a brand new email thread or do you hit "reply all" and delete the original cold email person so it's continued on the old email?

Hit reply the first time so they remember the other guy cced them and aren't like wtf. Then send a seperate email to your original contact thanking them / confirming you followed up.

Thanks, yeah that's essentially what I've been doing, I'm just worried about it getting confusing by having two separate contacts within the same email thread (gmail) and making sure I don't send the wrong reply to the wrong person. I guess it's just something I'll have to work around.
