Sophomore eligibility for diversity programs

Im a current student at a non-target who will be a junior this upcoming fall 2018, I plan on transferring to a semi-target/target for 2019 Fall Semester. Given that I am a latino, first generation student, I will be able to apply to diversity programs during spring time. Would I be consider a junior still even If I plan on transferring? By transferring Im giving up my senior status, coming as a junior and having to do 2 years at the school I would transfer to, technically making me a sophomore this spring semester? I know these programs are only open to sophomores and just overall curious if I would be eligible.

yes, just put class of 2021 on your resume and check that “are you graduating in 2021” box on the application. explain it if asked, but you should be fine if that’s your actual grad date.
