Sophomore recruiting difficulties
Hey guys, sophomore at non target school going through the recruiting process rn. Networked through many banks and started prepping but always have the dilemma when I go out with buddies that I should be doing more and that I’m doing something wrong. Basically whole process has me stressed.
Any advice on studying/preparing for interviews? How much time a week and if I’m on track or not?
You're on track if you get the offer.
Albert Einstein over here
Everyone has their own way in, and everyone has their own story. We all tell you "the best way" about networking with a million bankers and yattah yattah, but in the end its up to you. Reach out to people you feel that you might be able to speak to.
Also, know that IB isn't the end all be all. Open your possibilities, look at Buyside, consulting, look at ER, look at Commercial Banking. Everyone gets so focused on this "path" and then they realize its complete shit.
But if you have already networked with folk, all you can do is wait. I remember feeling like I wasn't doing enough until I had a bunch of superdays and an offer in hand. It hits quickly, but you won't feel satisfied until it does. So just be patient and keep it up dog.
