stranger or contact or both

Hey guys,

Hope to get some advice from the experienced guys here. Should i contact:

A contact who is a C-level executive at a bank but nowhere near the desk that I want to intern at?

or

A director that I met at a roadshow for the credit sales desk (that i want to get into) of the same bank that I met very very very briefly (and i do mean very) when I was interning at a long/short fund? My bosses sent me alone in on this one where I was an intern who was supposed to act like I was a full time guy.

or

both?

Any comments greatly appreciated! Don't wanna screw up my chances.
