Suggestions on Post-MBA Banking Career Path

Hi folks, I just graduated from a top MBA program and will soon join a top BB as a post-MBA associate. I am curious to hear your thoughts/suggestions/insights on future career paths as a post-MBA associate.

Below are three scenarios I could possibly think of:

  1. Stay in banking for 7-10 years until a senior position and then seek an exit to corporate as CFO or treasurer or IR head or PE in some rare cases.
  2. Look hard into buy-side opportunities and join an LMM/MM shop after 2-3 years. This route would probably set back my career a few years more as I would stay as an associate (at IB & PE) for longer.
  3. Exit for corporate development role after 2-3 years as a mid-level manager

I would love to hear your thoughts, especially from anyone who has walked either path. Thanks in advance.
