Summer Internship - help

So I am attending a non target and was offered an IB boutique internship for the summer. At the same time, I was given a SA position at a BB, but on the ops side. I decided to go with the SA spot, since IB was unpaid (who doesn't want 10k for 10 weeks of work right?).

Did I make the wrong decision? Will this hurt my chances of getting ib interviews?

Also, how can I spin my job description to make it more interesting than what it really is? Appreciate the help!

What year are you in school? I would've gone for the boutique but there's nothing you can do now. And the $10k should ease any pain. Back office is not very impressive, but it's not the worst thing in the world either. If you're a rising junior, hence have one more summer left before grad, then you'll be fine. As for spinning your job description, all the BB recruiters are going to know what your job was all about so you'd need to focus on other areas. You might have some flexibility with spinning it for boutiques, the name brand will probably open some doors.

Dude, thanks for your help. And I'm a rising senior. I have interned at a F500 (top 100) company in the past, but it was in the Controllers department :(. We did a lot of work with financial statements though.

From reading these forums, I realize I have an uphill battle but am willing to do what it takes. I have something in mind, but I'll do that on my own.

Question, when does recruiting start for class of 2011? Also I heard somewhere that applying through company's website won't get me anywhere. What other channels (besides school recruiting website) can I use? Last one: I have heard different things about putting "objective" on resume. My school's career services advised me to have an objective, but will I have a better shot without it?

Thanks
