Summer Internship IB

Hi everyone, I need some advice. I have just finished my second year / 3, I am at a target uni and I have decent grades. I'm a stem major and I've started learning about finance recently (as for now, I have some basic technical knowledge) and realized I want to pursue a career in IB. However, probably too late. I didn't secure any relevant spring weeks or internships. I was considering getting into consulting first as it's less competitive (is it?) and then transferring but for now I am not sure I am qualified enough to even get into this field. I also need visa sponsorship, so it makes things a bit more difficult.. What are my chances and what should I do? I would really appreciate any advice
