Switch from Corporate Banking into ABS at end of internship

Hi folks,

I recently learned about ABS through an intern meet & greet, and I think it's a very interesting place to pivot to. I'm currently working as a Corporate Banking intern at a regional bank (think Fifth Third, Regions, Huntington, PNC), and they give interns the opportunity to interview for another LOB at the end of the summer. I've talked with multiple people from the ABS side and think it's a super interesting place to start a career (even with the specialization that occurs). The firm that I'm with has a very good ABS group (typically lead agent) on many high quality deals, so it's a good opportunity. I was wondering what I should be preparing to do to get into such a role? So far I'm reading Structured Finance & CDOs by Tavakoli, networking with as many people as possible on that side, and familiarizing myself with debt waterfalls. What else can I do to prepare myself to the highest degree?
