Switching Big 4 Advisory Roles

Basically, I am currently an intern in risk advisory at KPMG. Through research and my own experience so far, it seems obvious that I need to transition into a different role as soon as possible. In the coming weeks, I will have to fill out a form indicating where I would want to try and transfer within the firm.

I am not exactly sure what I want to go into, but I know I would much rather prefer something more financial and analysis driven instead of internal controls and compliance. So I was wondering what the best areas I should attempt to switch to would be for the best exit opportunies from the firm. I am also looking to go to a competitive grad school at some point if any areas look good for that as well.

I would prefer to stay in advisory and some of the areas that seem interesting to me from my research are accounting advisory, risk analytics, corporate finance & restructuring, enterprise solutions, and financial service solutions. However, I am not sure if these areas would be looking for recent college graduate level experience. I have heard from others that commerical audit might be my best option for now and then to transfer to other advisory from there if these other areas of advisory are not obtainable at my current level/ will not provide good exit opportunites.

Any input or experience would be greatly appreciated! I am located in the Washington D.C. area if that impacts anything. Thanks!
