You probably can't without a better foundation in calculus, but if you can, take a probability theory course instead. It will be much more relevant and actually demonstrate some sort of aptitude, whereas an intro to stats course will just be viewed as an attempt at an easy A.

I want to take intro stat but I want to take a conflicting class more.

My question is, if I forgo intro stat and apply with my thin quant background, do I still stand a chance, and how much will intro stat help land an ugrad SA?

Taking a more advanced stat is out of the question if I haven't even taken intro yet.
