Tech background looking for career change

Hi all, this is my first post here. I am currently looking at making a career change to the IB or prop trading world as this has interested me for quite some time. I have an engineering background and about 6 yrs experience in sales and engineering at big tech firms like MSFT and Google. I am getting an MBA at a top 10 school focused in Finance and I want to know what the best route would be to make this sort of a jump from tech to finance. Has anyone done this? Are there any suggestions? I am also concerned about a big jump backwards in salary initially, I would love to know what to realistically expect.

Thanks!

You're already getting a top 10 MBA. Go with the flow, network, and apply like everyone else in your program. Be competitive and do well in interviews.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.
