Tech IB Interview Prep
Hi,
Do you have any advice on how to prepare for a tech IB interview ? Both from the technical side and also from the industry coverage side.
On the technical side: apart from usual IB questions, what kind of questions should I expect ? I am checking how to value software companies in a bunch of internet articles though I have yet to find a nice comprehensive guide/ model.
On the industry coverage side: I have started to read articles on industry trends thought the majority of them are very superficial, especially the ones from consulting companies, I had better hopes for them. I have found particularly interesting the articles from top VC firms, they are much more insightful but I was looking for something more related to banking: a lot of VC articles are on startups trends that may play in the banking world later on but not now.
Any help would be really helpful,
Thanks guys
For you’re interviews have views on one of the more developed tech companies NVIDA, Cisco, JD, Salesforce, etc… and be able to talk about it in depth. Also know the typical comps metrics you use in tech
Thank you!
Regarding the typical comps metrics, could you make me an example ?
Could you link the VC articles?
It really depends what verticals you are interested in inside technology. I usually check Future, which is a16z's blog/articles, and I personally find the majority of them really interesting

This was super helpful for me going through tech IB recruiting. Good luck!
Thank you very much!
Always good to have an understanding of metrics like gross churn, net churn (both in terms of revenue and logo) LTV / CAC, ARR, ARPU etc. Another easy way to gain points in an interview is tailoring your responses if you can get intel on what team within tech you’re talking to ie semiconductor vs internet vs software vs HCIT etc.
