I'm sorry, but a thank you card on top of the email is too much and just screams kiss-ass. A nice email should be fine. If the relationship is going anywhere you will exchange more emails, texts, or bloombergs.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

Gekko is definitely right. You might as well buy him some chocolates and send flowers to his wife on his behalf, too. A thank you email is more than enough these days. Your hand-written crap would just end up in the trash anyway, unless, paradoxically, it's a woman higher-up you met with (ROFL)

Wall Street leaders now understand that they made a mistake, one born of their innocent and trusting nature. They trusted ordinary Americans to behave more responsibly than they themselves ever would, and these ordinary Americans betrayed their trust.

I think chocolates and flowers are the completely WRONG direction to go in. You might as well mail the flowers to the cemetery where your career is soon to be buried. When I want to make an extra impression I send a double thank you email - an email that has a second thank you email as an attachment. It is gaining popularity rapidly and will soon be the standard.
