I was wondering if I should be sending thank you emails after networking phone calls with analysts and senior management, or if it comes off as too needy.

I personally do, because it shows appreciation for their time. It takes 20 seconds and can't hurt to do.
Send one every time, 100% of the time. Even if the call went shitty. No one will ever be upset at you for thanking them, but they might hold a grudge if you don’t.
