The Next Step

So heres my situation, I'm currently working at a boutique in NYC that has seen better days but has been around for a couple of decades and has a relatively deep bench but is not well known outside their industry. In addition I have one summer of working corp finance at a midsize tech firm and am trying to land a fall internship at a regional PE firm. Currently I have a 3.4 GPA but I fear that because I have a rather shaky foundation I wont be competitive going into FT. How should I approach recruiting? I've been cold emailing alum at my school with varying degrees of success (I go to a decent Semi Target). What should my next step be should as recruiting starts because I fear I am at a massive disadvantage to my peers who have brand name internships to them.

Thanks
