The worse the connection is with your interviewer, the better
We came out with this new theory with a buddy of mine: if you can't stand the people in the interview room or vice versa, you are almost guaranteed a job in M&A. The reason behind this is: the interviewer just cannot wait to make you his b... and make you work as hard as possible.
This theory holds only for VPs etc... Analysts and Associates do have to work with you so they will hire you if they like you.
So our advice: make sure the top people hate you during your interview.
I hope this helped!
I feel dumber for having read this...
I hope you and your buddy didn't spend too much time on this theory.
My theory is you are just trying to weed out the competition by saying that...
Disjoint, you have stumbled over the most closely guarded secret involved in recruting. Why did you not keep it to yourself? You could have leveraged this knowledge to gain innumerable offers!
there's some truth.
i go to second round when i fuck up my first round, and i get rejected when i feel that i aced the first round.
what a fucking stupid theory
Great advice!
