Wanted to get peoples thoughts on the appropriate or inappropriate way to shop an offer. Applying for full time positions and since the recruiting timelines are different I'm hearing back from some earlier than others. Is it only appropriate to shop an offer in the same or very similar job description? Or could I be blunt with another job I'm interviewing with and request a sped up timeline if I have another offer on the table?

If you receive an offer and have any connections somewhere else where you would rather work then reach out to them and tell them that you would like the change to interview/work with them but you have an exploding offer so would like their advice (hinting at the possibility that they may speed up the process I’d you’re and attractive candidate — which having an offer makes you more attractive)
