Timing of analyst application

Graduating in May 2011 - Masters in Accy - SEC school - High GPA

Plan to switch to IB. Typical, I know - let the accounting jokes fly...

100% committed to making the switch - I know it is going to be a battle, but I am up for it.

I do not start until mid. sept (Big 4 in major market) and am wondering if I should hold off until next year to apply or should just go full on ahead and apply (in fall of 2011) - even though I will have been working less than a couple of months when I send applications in?

I realize I will get the obvious questions - why didn't you just start out @ IB, etc etc. ...... Obviously I would have had I had the opportunity and have thought about responses to these questions.

Should I go ahead and start networking / applying, or hold off a little while??

Thanks,

As far as I'm aware, the major players (BBs, Elite Boutiques, top MMs) are in full recruiting swing by mid-September. That means your networking efforts should be WELL established by late August.
