I have some interviews lined up but the descriptions are kind of vague. Is it fine if I reach out to alumni in those divisions via linkedin ? I want to prepare as much as I can but don't know if it could bite me in the ass.

If i were you, i'd definitely use that to my advantage just so i can get an idea how of the firm is and its cultural aspects. Also ask the individuals how do they like it too.
