Todays featured mentor for the free mentor program is Monty09.

One of the most widely recognized users on WSO, Eugene Rubio outed himself years ago and has helped countless young people advance themselves, through his own mentoring and tidbits of wisdom, as well as with his Energy Rodeo, which hundreds of students attend every year. He has worked for a number of high profile firms including JPM, Northern Trust and EDF trading, specializing in power trading, and he is currently a Managing Director at RTC group, a recruiting and events firm. Heres a profile of him from one online news source:

If there were a prize for making friends, Eugene Rubio would be a winner.

His network of contacts is legendary.

"Gene took it to a new level, which we'd never seen before and probably never will again," said Jim Bridgman, Rubio's supervisor during a college internship at Northern Trust in Chicago. "He ended up having meetings with 72 people. He even reached out to the CEO."

Naturally, Rubio and Bridgman have kept in touch during the ensuing years.

"Gene's not all about what he can get out of the relationship," Bridgman said. "He's about what he can do to help you, too."

Now Rubio, who is 27, will share his secrets at a workshop he designed to teach students about the energy industry.

There are a number of qualified members like Monty who are willing to help those who aspire to make a career in finance. Feel free to be in touch with me if you want to apply to get a mentor.
